Braun Strowman (real name Adam Scherr) was released from his WWE contract on June 2, 2021. While he previously alluded to only ever wanting to wrestle for WWE, Strowman seemed to scrap that thinking when he started counting down his 90-day no-compete clause coming to an end. He’s since begun taking independent bookings, and was booked to appear on the Florida-based Free the Narrative promotion against EC3.

There’s been some speculation as to where Strowman will head next, though, with the two big names being AEW and Impact Wrestling. The latter has specifically been teasing Strowman’s arrival, with Imapct Wrestling EVP Scott D’Amore recently saying that the company was on the road to “Braun for Glory.”

This is a direct reference to Bound for Glory, Impact’s biggest show of the year. The play on words using Braun’s name was clearly D’Amore having a little fun with fans, but it could be a hint, especially if Impact wants to debut an established name on its biggest event.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter and F4WOnline, Strowman has yet to sign with Impact but is currently in touch with the company. So it could only be a matter of time before we see the big man debut. And with rumors of Bray Wyatt joining either AEW or Impact, it’ll be interesting to see if a potential Wyatt Family reunion will happen between Wyatt and Strowman.
