Full List of WWE Releases from November 18, 2021

John Morrison

Just two weeks after WWE released eighteen Superstars from their contracts, the company let go of an additional eight people on the roster. Once again, these releases are being said to be due to company-wide budget cuts.

The full list of this week’s releases is as follows:

  • John Morrison
  • Tegan Nox
  • Isaiah “Swerve” Scott
  • Top Dolla
  • Ashante Thee Adonis
  • Drake Maverick
  • Shane Thorne
  • Jaxson Ryker

A lot of these names are surprising to see. John Morrison is a shocker, as he’d been with the company before and his re-acquisition last year was a pretty huge deal for both WWE and the fans. Morrison’s wife Taya Valkyrie, who wrestled in NXT as Franky Monet, was released two weeks ago in that batch of terminations.

Tegan Nox had been called up to SmackDown alongside Shotzi Blackheart, though Nox was then drafted to the Raw brand.

Drake Maverick was let go from the company in 2020 but almost immediately rehired by Triple H for the NXT brand. He was then in a range of different storylines before ultimately being utilized mostly for comedic segments involving the 24/7 Championship.

Shane Thorne spent time in NXT’s tag team division and eventually got called up to the main roster as a member of the ill-fated Retribution stable, where he was renamed Slapjack.

Despite being a part of The Forgotten Sons and receiving minor pushes as part of that group, Jaxson Ryker was utilized in one-off storylines on the main roster and then mostly wrestled on WWE Main Event.

Probably the biggest surprise, though, was the termination of the entirety of Hit Row. Following B-Fab’s release two weeks ago, it looked like the trio of Isaiah “Swerve” Scott, Top Dolla, and Ashante Thee Adonis would potentially thrive on NXT 2.0 and then SmackDown after being drafted — especially considering that the group was solid in-ring, great on the mic, and had a well-developed personality and voice.
