Well, it looks like it’s a new day as Big E has finally done it, folks! Following Bobby Lashley’s successful WWE Championship defense against Randy Orton, Big E ran down the ramp with his Money in the Bank contract to make the cash-in. This resulted in a pretty quick impromptu match-up between Big E and Lashley, which saw Mr. Money in the Bank pick up the win and the championship after hitting his Big Ending finishing maneuver.

Having first come up through FCW and NXT, Big E is one of the most naturally likable and entertaining wrestlers in WWE, and he possesses incredible power and deceptive agility. His WWE Title win is definitely much deserved, and if booked properly, fans could be in store for one hell of a title run. A champion looks strong based on his opponents, though, so here’s hoping WWE books some great title defenses.

Here are five potential WWE Championship feuds we’d like to see Big E be a part of.

John Cena

John Cena vs. Big E United States Championship Match

Now that he’s appearing in big Hollywood productions like The Suicide Squad, John Cena isn’t a full-time wrestler anymore. That said, he frequently makes his rounds in WWE, now usually putting over other talent like he did with Roman Reigns when the two faced off for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam this year.

It would be pretty cool to see Cena return to Monday Night Raw and do the same for Big E. The new WWE Champion needs challengers that are legitimate threats to the title while also upping his credibility as champion. Love him or hate him, John Cena is easily the best person for that job. Cena’s been chasing that 17th world title reign on-and-off for a while now, so he could go after Big E next. Not to mention, Cena tends to work well in big match situations, so a program with Big E could be a lot of fun.

AJ Styles

AJ Styles Big E

While John Cena may be one of the most decorated Superstars in WWE, AJ Styles is one of the most accomplished wrestlers all over the world, having held titles in Impact Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling, among many others. In addition, he’s a former two-time WWE Champion, the title Big E now holds.

Styles has long been considered one of the greatest wrestlers going today, and as such, he would make a perfect candidate to test Big E. The match would likely be a highly entertaining show of athleticism versus power, and it could easily main event any upcoming pay-per-view.

Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy WWE Championship

Jeff Hardy is another highly decorated former champ in WWE. He went from being in legendary tag team feuds and matches alongside his brother Matt Hardy to being a fully credibly and capable singles competitor thanks to his charismatic nature and awesome high-flying moveset. Though he’s had some ups and downs in his WWE tenure as of late, there’s no discrediting what Jeff Hardy has accomplished and could very well still accomplish in the company.

It’s always fun seeing two wrestlers with different styles battle it out in the middle of the ring. That’s why a Jeff Hardy versus Big E angle could be a really entertaining affair. Plus it would put Jeff back in that world title picture that could maybe, hopefully lead to one last run with the WWE Championship at some point in the future.

Keith Lee

Keith Lee Wins the NXT Championship

Both Big E and Keith Lee share a natural charisma, imposing power, and deceptive agility. Seeing these two square up in the ring for the WWE Championship would be like seeing two behemoths destroy each other in a kaiju film. It would be fast, hard-hitting, and straight-up awesome.

It’s probably too soon to expect a Keith Lee WWE Championship win, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get a great match out of it. Hell, even if it’s not for the title, can we please get this match someday soon, WWE?

Damian Priest

Damian Priest

Damian Priest is currently holding his own as the WWE United States Champion, but the dude has all the tools necessary to be WWE Champion someday. Given his in-ring ability and mic work, he very well could be the top dog before you know it. But before that happens, let’s enjoy Big E’s title reign! While we’d like to see a lengthy Big E run with the WWE Championship, though, that doesn’t mean he and Priest can’t cross paths during that run.

Damian Priest has an impressive list of moves in his arsenal, and his darker persona would make for an interesting polar opposite of Big E’s cheerier demeanor. Priest’s varied offense against Big E’s diverse aersenal would make for an explosive match that could potentially lead to a good live crowd chanting “fight forever!”

Honorable Mention: Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is having the Universal Championship run of his career over on SmackDown. He’s currently in a program with Brock Lesnar, which could mean one of two things: He’ll defeat Lesnar in one of the biggest wins of his career, or he’ll lost the title to the Beast Incarnate. If it’s the former, a dethroned Reigns could very well show up on Raw to set up a feud with Big E, which would only help further establish Big E’s WWE Championship reign.

If, on the other hand, Reigns retains the Universal Title, he could very well hold it up to and past Survivor Series in November. And if that’s the case, how awesome would it be to see Raw’s WWE Champion Big E take on SmackDown’s Universal Champion Roman Reigns? This has big fight written all over it, whether it’s for the championship or just a brutal, intense grudge match. Plus, just like Reigns has The Bloodline in his corner at all times, Big E has The New Day providing some much-needed backup.
