Welcome to Wrestlevolve’s Fight Forever Match of the Week. Here we’ll highlight one match from the week in professional wrestling and talk about why it was one of our favorites. It could be a 30-minute epic or the exciting culmination of an entertaining feud. It might be a pay-per-view bout or a really solid TV match. Wrestling resonates with everyone differently, so feel free to let us know what your match of the week was in the comments!

There was some really good wrestling this past week. We came off of AEW All Out with excellent matches throughout the week including Kay Lee Ray vs. Ember Moon on NXT, Karl Anderson vs. Rich Swann in a Bunkhouse Brawl on Impact, and Andrade El Idolo vs. PAC on AEW Rampage. Hell, there was even a really cool match featuring Lucha Libre AAA’s Laredo Kid on BTI. For my money, though, my favorite TV match was Chris Bey of Bullet Club vs. David Finlay.

Finlay has been feuding with Jay White and Bullet Club for some time now, and there have been a number of very entertaining battles involving both him and Chris Bey. Their match on the September 9, 2021 edition of Impact Wrestling, however, was probably the most fun of the bunch and had a lot of fast-paced action.

Chris Bey showed why he’s a star in the making with some incredible counters to Finlay’s offense. He was moving around the outside and inside of the ring with pure grace, making it clear why he calls himself the ultimate finesser. The offense delivered by both men was also impressive, with some hard hits and heavy moves giving the match a pay-per-view vibe.

The match ended with Finlay’s tag team partner Juice Robinson making an appearance and assisting Finlay to pull of the victory. The duo gave Bey a taste of his and Bullet Club’s own medicine, as the New Japan Pro-Wrestling stable has made a career out of bending and breaking the rules to achieve victory and dominance in the world of wrestling.

Admittedly, the match was a little bit shorter than I would’ve liked at just around nine minutes, but Bey and Finlay absolutely put on a show during that time. It’s crazy to think what they could’ve done with even just five more minutes!

Following the match, Bullet Club’s Hikuleo showed up and helped Bey dismantle both David Finlay and Juice Robinson. So while the victor may have been Finlay, it was Bey who celebrated by playing air guitar following the match as Bullet Club’s theme music played.

While there was no happy ending for FinJuice, the plus side for fans is that we’ll get to see Finlay and Bey in the ring against each other soon. A tag match putting FinJuice up against Chris Bey and Hikuleo has been booked for the upcoming Victory Road event on September 18, 2021. Keep a lookout for that one, because it could be a show-stealer.
