Jon Moxley Enters Alcohol Treatment Program, Renee Paquette Comments

Jon Moxley and Renee Paquette

Last night, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan revealed via Twitter that Jon Moxley had entered an inpatient alcohol treatment program. Khan emphasized that Moxley is a “beloved member of the AEW family” and said that Moxley’s decision was being fully supported in his road to recovery.

Renee Paquette, Moxley’s wife, commented on the matter, as well. Paquette said on Twitter, “Thanks for this outpouring of support. Jon is every bit of the badass we all know him to be. I couldn’t be more proud of him for getting to proper help he needs, and being given the space to put his health first. Couldn’t possibly love this man more.”

Jon Moxley made his shocking debut at AEW’s first show, Double or Nothing, in 2019. Since then he’s won the AEW World, had matches in New-Japan Pro Wrestling, and made appearances on multiple independent promotions. He also released his autobiography, Mox, this month. It’s been awesome seeing Moxley have the freedom to pursue so many projects, but it’s saddening to think he’s been struggling with alcohol issues during this most prosperous time for him.

The news was also met with an outpouring of support from fans, friends, and fellow wrestlers. It’s one of those things you hate to see happen to anyone, but we can’t stress enough how important and awesome it is that Mox is seeking help. As such, Wrestlevolve also extends the utmost support to Jon Moxley and Renee Paquette at this time. Get well soon, Mox!
